What kind of shoes are right for a Discount Tire? I just got a job at Discount Tire. I know the clothes and shoes are all black, but I don't know if i need steel-toe boots, tennis shoes, or casual shoes. Any Help or even links would be great! Thanks!!!
Would discount tire charge me to balance a tire if I just got it fixed there a couple of days ago? I had a flat 3 days ago, so I put the spare on and took the flat to discount tire. They fixed it quickly and had my car ready in 15 min. But now the steering wheel shakes a bit when I go faster than 55 mph. Would they charge me to get the tire balanced? My money goes away fast these days, so I would like to hear from anyone else who's had this experience before I take my car over there. Thanks :)
how often does discount tire pay? I just got a job at discount tire and was interested in if they pay on a weeky, bi weekly, or monthly basis. The store is located in San Diego California if that makes any difference.
is discount tire certificate worth it? i just bought 4 brand new tires from discount tires. i would like to get your opinion if it is worth getting the certificate warranty to cover for damage and replacement.
Mavis Discount Tire and can they replace my Honda Civic brakes? I have to get my brakes replaced on my Honda Civic. Mavis is charging pretty low money ($60), to replace my front brakes. They would use Wagner semi-metallic pads. Does anyone have any experience with Mavis? Also, does anyone know about the quality of semi-metallic brake pads and how well they work with Honda?
Can you actually return tires from Discount Tire? I bought 2 tires and they were a different size than stock and the guy told me it would be fine. Well it drives like crap now so I want to return them. I know the commercial says you can but its like 20 yrs old now. Anyone know for sure?
does discount tire company do random drug testing? my brother and I have a bet he has a medical marijuana perscription and he says that they probably don't and I say regardless of the script, its a federal law and they probably do since you deal with people's safety ie. tires. Im looking for a real answere not an opinion 10pts to the answere
Has Obama warned people away from the crappy tire gauges sold at discount auto stores? I think Obama's Tire Gauge Reconciliation Act of 2008 may backfire, if his personality cultists all run out to a discount auto store and buy one of those crappy pen shaped tire gauges. Those things will flip flop on pressure readings more than Obama at a meet and greet with cultists. A good, accurate tire gauge will set you back probably 10 bucks or more. Can a taxpayer subsidy for tire gauges for the "disenfranchised" be far behind?
I am 18 and i want to get a job at Discount Tire Co.? Okay i am in need of a summer job. I know that the people there may not let me actually change the tire but is there any thing that i could do around the store? anything from moving stuff to cleaning toilets? has anyone worked there before? I am willing to do Crap jobs. It is REALLY hard to find a job right now :/ i need help. Is there anywhere else that i can do crap jobs?

Discount tire or big o tires? Obviously this question is only for those familiar with both of these places-I've used discount for years and although it seems I'm always having issues with my tires, I love that they have the lifetime guarantee on them and they'll fix it for free etc. I need 3 new tires right now though and I was quoted a lower price at big o tires. I've never used them for anything but an oil change, so I don't know what their policies are. Does anyone know if they're a good place to get tires and if they have any sort of guarantees/flat fixes etc like discount tire does? I'm tempted to just spend more at discount if they don't! Any info/help is appreciated :)
did Discount tire do a good job for me? I had a flat tire. Towed the car to discount car company. They found a puncture but no nail or anything stuck in the tire. They patched, did a free flat fix. Two days later the same tire started leaking air. I took it to same shop again. They looked at it and told me I have the bad luck of having another puncture right next to the earlier patch. Since they are too close, cannot patch again and the tire cannot be saved. Pressured me to buy a new tire. What do you experts think? Are they trying to sell a new tire rather than fix the puncture? I cannot imagine having two punctures on the same tire in the span of two days right next to each other. Did they do a bad job of patching up in the first instance? Thanks
Tire question... does anyone know about Discount Tire? I bought 4 brand new tires in September from Discount Tire and had to get two different brands because my car needs two different sizes for the back and the front.. okay.. I purchased their 2 Replace Certificates which covers me from road hazards and workmanship and things like that if the tread is still pretty good.. I got a blade stuck in my tire. Through miscommunication, my father went to get it patched elsewhere, not exchanged through discount tire (my car doesn't come with a spare, since it comes with run flat tires).. Question is, does this void that replacement? If I were to have another problem with that tire would it cover that tire because it was patched?
discount tire company owner information? I called my local Discount Tire Co in Chandler Blvd. & 48th St. and told them my car starts to shake when I drive 65-70 mph. Service rep told me that my rims are bent and need 2 new rims. Rims would cost $45 and had them in stock. Had my car for 30 min and told me that Saturn makes a different rim and they don't have it and cant find it. He said he can "give me a smokin deal on 4 new rims" and should be good to go. Bought 4 new rims for $300.00 and went on my way. Drove on the highway and got up to 65 mph and car started shaking. Called my person I was dealing with and told him I still have the problem. He said it could be the tires and could get me out the door for $200. I need to find the owner for the Phoenix Arizona Discount Tire Co.
Has anyone else had problems with Discount Tire's free balance and rotation? I put 18's on my 04 Celica and eventually took them off after a while due to shaking in the steering wheel, especially when on the highway. I went back to the stock 15's and the steering wheel shaking has gone away but it seems like the car is a little bouncy when driving and that it isn't handling 100%. This weekend I'm thinking of going to Firestone and paying $60 to have them to do a lifetime balance and rotation since they just started to offer it and I'm having no luck with Discount Tire. I already have a lifetime alignment with Firestone for my car. I'm also very obsessive about how my car handles. I've driven other people's cars and I don't notice the same problems. Does anyone have anything to add? Thank you.
The pro-rated tire warranty. Discount Tire? Is anybody confused by the intent of the pro-rated tire warranty. I just went through a discussion for the second time with Discount Tire about how these 60 and 70K mileage warranty tires aren't lasting even half the mileage for what they claim. It is apparent that the whole pro-rated mileage warranty thing is intended to lock you into continually buying tires from the same retail store. When a consumer evaluates a warranty on a product... it seems the warranty is supposed to represent confidence in the product ...that the product will "most" likely last as long as the warranty covers. This is not the case for tires at all. Car tires are only intended to last 25-30K miles (unless you are aware of a tire that lasts longer easily, let me know). When you take it back to the retail store (Discount Tire in this case) they simply offer you a pct discount off your next set of tire. But, the pct discount only applies to the actual new tire... not the installation, environmental, repair/replace, rotate/balance fees that are tacked onto each tire when you get new ones. Anyone aware of a car tire that will last me more than 70K miles... or do they simply not exist?
Speedometers calibrated when bigger wheels are installed by tire shops? I've noticed a lot of new cars are driven off the lot with aftermarket wheels as well as those purchased from Discount Tire, etc. I know whenever you increase/decrease the overall diameter from the original, it will throw off the speedometer. Are the tire places calibrating them for free? Or are they just "pushing" their products as quicly as possible so nobody notices? I know they sell those gadgets that calibrates it but are they using them?
Discount Tire job? I just went into discount tires and saw their enviorment in working, which was very fast pace. I was just curious if anyone would know any information about it. I am 17 so i don't know if you have to be 18 or not. I somewhat know how to replace tires, but i am very interested in learning more about cars and working with my hands. If you work here or know anything about it id like to know =) (Just curious also about how much there hour pay is.)
Better price on tires and alighnment - Discount tires or at car dealers? I need a low profile tires for my scion and i would like to have an alignment done at the same time. what i have on my scion now is yokoma or yokahoma something like that. ca'nt remember at this moment :). would i get a better deal and service at the Discount Tires or at my Scion dealers. Is it possible for a lift at a tire shop to damage a flywheel? I went to Discount Tire and as soon as I left the truck made an odd noise. A mechanic at Aamco said it may be a chipped flywheel. Can a hydraulic lift damage that part of a vehicle? I did make them aware of the problem and they listened to it the same day. They said they only do tires and could not diagnose the problem themselves.
Does anyone know of any guidelines on flat tire repairs? I've had a couple of flat tires and both times, Discount Tires suggested to replace the tire because they cannot repair it. They said that the puncture was near the sidewall. It seems to me that they never repair a tire (although they offer the service for free), in addition, they pull a scare tactic such as "The tire will bubble and explode..." It looks to me that if you have a flat tire, you need to replace it not repair it.
Discount tire Ride Matching Legit or Bunk? I recently purchased a new set of Yoko YK520's for my car. When I went in, they presented me with an option for "ride matching", it's supposed to perfectly match the tire with the rim resulting in a smoother ride. I didn't understand how this was different then properly balancing the tire, but it sounded like a good thing. Anyhow I agreed to have this done then found out it cost $100! I was a bit floored by the price. Here is a link the their advertisement of the feature. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/info/tmpInfoRoadForce.jsp;jsessionid=FLQJFm82bxMdLX3tL6DT1hnd2FjhhGTT1MjPWDqfGGTqXg4QQQZS!923105897!NONE I was also surprised that this only needs to be done once for the life of the tire. So, was this a good idea or did I get ripped off? Mike
Tire stores steer me away from special order tires? Why do places like Discount Tire and Tires Plus steer me away from special order towards the ones they have in stock? Do they get a special commission on the ones in stock? Is it in their best interest to steer me away from special order tires? Do they make more money on "in stock" tires?
Which tire would you select for your mustang GT? 1. Replace the existing Kumho Ecsta ASX's ($113 at discount tire) 2. General Exclaim UHP ($101 at discount tire) 3. Yokohama AVID V4S (price unknown at this time) 4. Fuzion, the brand the guy gives a quote for. ($80 firestone) These are the choices keeping in mind that price, performance, and treadlife are key factors. Normal driving habits most but would like to have the performance to let loose now and then.
When you slash someone's tire, does it explode? My friend & I are having a bet, but since we can't go around testing the theory, I though it best to ask here. What exactly happens when you slash/stab a car's tire? Is there a difference between stabbing the treads vs. the white wall? Also, is there anything hazardous about it, like pieces of rubber flying out from the internal pressure? Not sure how many people know about this, but I figure someone has to work at an auto body shop or Discount Tire...
my Explorer needs tires but I cant get any tire shop to put them on? its a 92 i have checked on line and my car was not part of the recall they will only put passenger car tires on it but i plan to drive it off-road like sand rock and dirt. so i need some tread that will dig in. i have gone to 2 national tire places goodyear and discount tire centers i have also taken it to walmart and one of those used tire places right now i cant drive it because the steel belt is no longer part of the tire
How much is a 4 wheel car alignment? Also, where is the best place to get your car alignment done in Lansing, Michigan?? Any recommendations or sharing of previous experience appreciated. The friendly mechanic at Walmart suggested Belle Tire, since their alignments are supposed to be $60... however, read some user reviews on the net and seems a lot of ppl are unsatisfied with their service. How about Discount Tire Co? Thanks.
What type of tires should i get for my car? I have a 2004 Mazda 3s with 17 inch wheels and do not know much about tires. I am currently looking at Kumho Ecsta Asx, which are all season. Does anyone know if these are good tires? Or would someone recommend someone recommend another type of tire? Also is Kumho a good brand? I am buying them at Discount Tires i think, and they offer a warranty for $62, whcih will cover them up to 3/32" or 3 years. If i do not get that, then if something does happen to them, it is prorated for how much they will cover. Is this worth purchasing? Thanks for your help. The type of tires that came with the car are horrible. I have had no control in winter, and i am looking for a better all-season tire.
