Antiques Roadshow? I love PBS TV, mainly because it has such quality shows like Antique Roadshow, to which I am listening to while on *Answers*. Yeah, I know how to "multi-task"! :) Anyway, the show is in Las Vegas and some woman brought in this diamond ring, didn't have any idea how much it was worth. The ring was worth between $165,000 to $175,000!!!!!!!! And the lady was so shocked, she played it really cool, she said, "oh, really?" I love Antiques Roadshow for the surprises and neat information on aniques. How about you? Do you watch it? Any favorite recollections of memorable appraisals?
How do you send pictures or e-mails to the Antiques Roadshow? I would like to know how to send pictures and information via e-mail to the Antiques Roadshow regarding two World War bayonettes and a classic Champion Rifle. Do you watch Antiques Roadshow in order to judge the background butts? If you don't understand the question, I'm referring to the people walking or standing in the background of the show - they are often on screen with their booty's sticking out. Am I the only one who notices loads of background butts during this show? Most of them are terrible to look at, you may lose your meal! Once in a awhile a super hot one appears!
just read in newspaper about Antiques Roadshow? A man bought a bottle for £1,000 from a dealer and took it to the roadshow to be valued, he was told it was an olive oil bottle from Tesco bought in 2008, it isn`t being broadcast to save his blushes but has anyone else been took in by a dealer and lost money?
how old is the TV show Antiques Roadshow? How old are the episodes of the Antiques Roadshow that is aired in Australia at 5:30pm on channel 9. I have noticed the fashion everyone is wearing seems very early 90's....or is it that the English have very bad fashion sense?
Looking for this video - Antiques Roadshow? I found a story about this item on the Antiques Roadshow and I'm trying to find the video of it. I'm told the appraiser was fumbling his words, he was so excited to see it. It's a Chinese Tang Dynasty Marble Lion. The appraiser's name is Lark Mason. The show was filmed in Albuquerque, NM. If there is a video of it on the internet, I'm sure someone here will be able to help me find it. Thanks!!
Have you ever had an "Antiques Roadshow" purchase? I don't mean actually being on the show. I just mean finding out that something you bought for cheap was really valuable. I bought an Oriental rug for $25 at a garage sale and later found out it was worth closer to $1000.
Fiona Burce's watch on Antiques Roadshow? My girlfriend really likes the look of the watch that Fiona Bruce wears on The Antiques Roadshow. The white one that looks like ceramic. Does anyone know where to buy, brand etc ?
Antiques Roadshow episode with box with many compartments? There was an episode of Antiques Roadshow with a wood box that had a bunch of secret compartments. The box was like 18x18x12 or something like that and lots of compartments and small doors and hidden removable panels that hid secret compartments. The box was very valuable and was at the end of the show. Does anyone know what episode it was or have any other info?
How many Burglars watch The Antiques Roadshow? It's a bit like those online estate agent viewing sites isn't it. "Oh I live in ****** apon Thames and have just found out this Vase is worth £20,000" LOL!! It's more of an ironic Q as I doubt if many burglars will own up, but you never know, ironically!!
What is the coolest thing you've seen on Antique Roadshow? What is the most shocking or coolest thing you've seen on Antique Roadshow? I'm watching right now and this little green ceramic fish was worth $30, 000. The lady was told by a local broker that it wasn't worth anything except the attachment her family had to it.
Antiques Roadshow Clip? Does anyone know where I can find a clip from the Antiques Roadshow where an old lady is showing Henry Sandon a large collection of porcelain which is really expensive - and she keeps on saying "oh I've got more of them at home" etc etc? A link would be best rather than people saying try You Tube etc as I can't find it.
Was the daughter in TLC's My Unique Family (transgender episode) once on Antiques Roadshow? This episode aired tonight on TLC. It's the story of a couple that's stayed together even though the husband is becoming a woman. They have 2 kids, and I think I recognize the daugher (Katrina) from an episode of Antiques Roadshow. On the roadshow episode (don't know what city or what year), a young blonde girl gets an appraisal of a painting she found in a dumpster with her mom. The painting is of a lady done in dark colors. The girl notes that items in the painting (clothes, furniture, hair combs) can be used to help date it. The girl from the roadshow stood out in my mind for being poised and articulate beyond her years. I think she's the same girl from the TLC show with the transgender dad. Does anybody know for sure? [One clue - the transgender family visits a thrift store, and the girl on the roadshow said she likes to visit thrift stores with her mom.]
Do you recognize this guest from Antiques Roadshow? I was watching Antiques Roadshow (Wichita, hour three) a couple weeks ago, and I'm trying to figure out the name of a guest who was on there. He brought in the Beals Becker baseball uniform and NY Giants photos from the early 1900s. Here's the link from the show: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/archive/200803A50.html You can see him in the appraisal video. I'm pretty sure I used to go to school with this guy, and it's really bothering me that I can't figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
How much money were the fairy photographs estimated at on the Antiques Roadshow? An episode of the Antiques Roadshow on the 4th of January at 7pm on BBC 1 oversaw the selling of fairy photographs. The photographers had been taken two young girls, Elsie Wright and her cousin, Frances Griffiths. They claimed they had seen the fairies on an earlier occasion and had gone back with a camera and photographed them. They had been taken in July and September 1917, near the Yorkshire village of Cottingley. Their daughter put the original photographs and the camera up for sale at a price that i missed due to other people talking. I am so upset that i didn't hear the price and would do anything to know how much the offer was. Please can anyone out there help me who saw this episode today?
What is the best way to teach yourself about antiques? I love the antiques roadshow and things of that nature. I would like to learn more about antiques (NOT TO BE a PRO)! I would just like to learn more from books or websites or whatever. I can't go to classes because I'm kinda housebound but would still like to learn more. Thanks! Yes I know I said I wanted to learn from books but I was hoping you could recommend some specfic ones! :)
How to become an antiques appraiser? Like on the Antiques Roadshow. Where do I go from High School? What kind of school, and where are the school(s) located? Anyone know how much they make?
Is anyone else sick of programmes about antiques? The deluge of antiques programes on telly is starting to drive me up the wall. Has anyone else found that Antiques Roadshow, Flog It, Cash In The Attic et al bores them to tears? And do you think the credit crunch will crush the antiques market as no one wants to spend money on old junk, or will it send it rocketing as people try to flog even more rubbish / make fast money?
Paddy walks into The Antiques Roadshow ? and puts a big box on the table. "Where did you find this?" asked the expert. "Oh, it's been in the attic for years," said Paddy. "Have you got insurance?" asked the expert. "Why do you ask?" said Paddy. "Because you're going to need it - that's your cold water tank."
