ebay bidding? so im bidding on this fabric on ebay and everytime i bid higher right when i click the commit to pay button the other person bids 25 cents higher. do they have a program or something that does that or.....?

Ebay Bidding?? Okay, I'm a little confused about bidding on Ebay, I've used Ebay before and I've used both Bidding and "buy it now" format to purchase items, but my question is, if I'm bidding on an item and Ebay will automatically bid on my behalf and I only pay for what the auction ends at couldn't I just enter $999.00 for my maximum bid? Because I don't necessarily have to pay that amount it's just basically a guaranteed safety net right?

So, say, an item costs $100, and my maxium bid is 200. If someone before me bid 180, and raised the item's "current price" to 105 (or whatever it is), and i win, will i have to pay 180, or 105? eBay bidding? I have some rather "rare" items up for bid on eBay. This is my first listing, and I don't know how the bidding community works, in terms of them really wanting an item and bidding at certain times of the week. My three items, which are being sold altogether, already generated $74.00 within the first 8 or so hours of me putting them up, gathering 16 bids total. They are really worth close to $120. I have five days left on my listing so far. (It's up to $76.00 right now though) So regarding bidding, do they usually bid really consistently in the closing hours of the listing? Is there anyway I can contact my bidders and thank them for bidding?
