If a user on ebay has Automatic Bidding on, how fast does it place the automatic bid? I am wanting to purchase a vehicle on ebay. However, I am pretty sure the top bidder at this point has automatic bidding turned on. If I was to bid on the item within the last few minutes of the auction, how fast would the user's automatic bid occur?

Question about automatic bidding on ebay? I read the help page, and it says when you bid you enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. So here's an example: Bob is trying to set up automatic bidding. The maximum amount he wants to pay is $25.00. The starting bid for the item is $5.00. Trying to set up automatic bidding, he places a bid for $25.00. Does that make his bid $5.00, then keep bidding for him until the amount reaches $25.00? That's what the help page said. How to beat ebay's automatic bidding and other sniping softwares? Hi all, I'm new to ebay. Appreciate some general advice. I have sold a few things. Never bought. Now there's an item ending in 2 hours. I want to use manual sniping to try and win it. Ie i will sit there and in the last 3 sec i will put in my bid. I have read about ebay's automatic bidding and other sniping softwares. I have a few questions. say the item is now $8 and i need to enter 8.50 or more. Bidding history says that the highest bidder is using automatic bid meaning he has set a price that is higher than 8.50. So my question is that if I bid in the last 3 sec, will ebay's automatic bid always be fast enough to let him win as long as his bid is higher than mine? also, other sniping softwares i heard about, do they just put in a single bid in the last 15 sec? or is there a feed bak where the software knows that in the last 4 sec something is higher and it will bid again? basically which is faster? manaul/ebay automatic or sniping softweare? im gonna try and sit here to do it manually. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Ok, so I just found out that you can auto-bid on an item on eBay in which you bid the maximum you're willing to pay, and eBay automatically bids the lowest amount you need to pay in order to remain top bidder. My question is, if you really want something really bad and you know the maximum someone else will bid is around 20, but just to be 100% sure you'll win, can you bid $100, or $5000 or $1,000,000 etc.? question about automatic bidding on ebay? ok, um i have been looking through questions about automatic bidding on ebay, and i think i finally understand it and everything, but i just want to make sure. so if anybody wants to correct me, go ahead. so her it is: for instance; the item i am bidding on already has 3 dollars listed. i go to "your max bid" and bid the highest i want to on an item say 25 dollars. i put it in there and leave the rest to the computer. while somebody is putting 4.50, the computer automatically puts in 4.75 for me. so on and so on until the time runs out. after ive won the item i want, i dont have to pay 25 dollars. i only have to pay 4.75, which is the amount the computer put in there for me to win the item. oh and so i dont have to keep bidding the next highest amount like i usually do, i just put the max number of money i am willing to pay for the item, and let the computer do its thing. ok, i know that was a handful, but can somebody tell me if im right on what i just said, or correct me please, thank you :)

Question about Ebay bidding- I was bidding on an item with no bids and I've put a reserve much higher then the starting bid was - just in case someone will start bidding on it as well. This was 4 min before the ending of the auction. I was refreshing page every few seconds, and up to the last 16 seconds there were no bids, and I was the sole bidder with the starting price (not even my reserve!) When I refreshed the screen (with 16seconds to go) I was outbid! I don't understand how this happend - because my reserve was much, much higher then the starting bid and unless this other person was bidding as well and put his reserve higher then mine - then the automatic bidding would have picked it up first, but there were no bids till the last 16 seconds! I was really pi***d off, and I would like to know how they do it? Is there a software somewhere specially for ebay? How does it work? Because I am sure that was not coincedence/ Thanks!

Lets say the guys reserve is set at $500 and I place a bid of $525 and meet the reserve...will my bid automactically be displayed as $525 as the high bid without anyone bidding anything higher than $500. Why do people use ebay sniper? I get that ebay sniper will bid for you during the last seconds of the bid. But I thought ebay automatic bidder will bid for you at long as it stays in your maximum bid amount. And in the ebay sniper tool, you also have to decide on the maximum amount of money you're willing to bid. What do I do with my Ebay problem? Alright, I am a hockey card collector. I was bidding for a Luke Schenn Rookie card. It has a cereal number and it was autographed. I had bid twice before and both of the auctions I had lost, with them ending at around 40 dollars. Both were lost at the very last minute as I didn't have the time to put a new bid in. The 3rd time, I put an automatic bid in at $69. I told the seller that I didn't expect for it to go as high as it did, and that I was peeved off at another ebayer for screwing me over. I also told them that I could get the money to them in 5 days. What else can I do, I'm stuck!!! The bid ended up at 66.25 for the card. I was expecting it to end at 40, both of us were using automatic bidding. Right now, the best Buyer's trick I know of is the automatic sniper; I use Snipestreet to place my maximum bids just before the end of the auction. It's free, and has never failed me yet, unless of course I didn't bid high enough. Anyone have any input on Snipestreet, or any other sniping service? If so, could you please include info on fees? Thanks Kim, I had never noticed that feature before. I just tried it, and it looks as if it will be very helpful. I'm assuming it will run the search for you automatically - if so, do you have any idea how often, and can you specify that somewhere? In the meantime, I found a pretty cool site called Auctionsleuth that will run up to 200 searches for you at any frequency you want, even every minute I think, for as long as you keep the search active. They must have some pretty powerful servers. Definitely try using one of the bid snipers - it's great never having to worry about missing the closing of an auction, or staying up late just to bid on something. Plus, it's nice to not let anyone know you're interested in something ahead of time. Just put in the highest price you're willing to pay, and wait for an email telling you if you won or not. If you lose, no problem - it was more than you wanted to pay anyway, and it keeps you from bidding more than you "should" - BTDT :)

Ebay buy it now, reserve price query? I have a car on e bay and have a buy it now price, will that mean that theres an automatic reserve of that price on the item, because I have tried to set the reserve price afterwards and can't? If there are bids on the item which they are does that mean the buy it now price isn't set so theres no reserve. Please help

Experience with Automatic Bidding on eBay? I wanna bid up to 100 dollars on an item but what if the other bidders stops and gives up at 60 and then I won the item eventually, does it mean I have to pay 61 or 100 dollars because 100 is my maximum bid?

Who Loves Winows Vista ? Easy 2 points? I hate it and have been stuck with it since i bought it when it first came out. My expectations were high for "Vista Home Premium" but i soon found out that nearly nothing works with Vista. I used to have so many great programs that woked well with XP but they wont work at all with Vista. Why dont i just go back to XP? because i gave XP to to a relative installed on a computer i bought for her. Now the real slap in the face,Vista has finely begun to send out automatic updates "I've been waiting for this" I now find the updates will try to install but will fail to download and all i am left with is a message "Your downloads failed to install" Error " 800736CC" I contacted Microsoft to no avail (: Did you know XP is selling for a higher price on Ebay than Vista, even a used Xp os disc is being sold for more than a used Vista os disc,Vista is'nt even getting any bids. XP even used is bringing in $80.00+ I'm going to go back to XP "Stay Away From Vista"
