what are the techniques used to install v-belts in a car? i have a 1989 Nissan 240sx, i currently am trying to replace the power steering belt and alternator v-belts, but i am having a hard time trying to put them in, i was wondering if there are any techniques used to install belts in a car.
I got an oil change and was told my v-belts were cracking? I got an oil change and was told my v-belts were cracking. I only have $150 for the next month to spare. Will I be able to replace them in time with so little to spend? (I'm a student, paying my way with only a part time job and no mommy or daddy to run to for help.) I drive a '93 Honda Del Sol.

How do I change the belts on a 2002 Toyota Sienna V6? I was expecting to find a single serpentine belt with an automatic tensioner pulley. I have changed serpentine belts on many models with no problem. But this Sienna has two belts, not one. One belt drives the power steering pump. The second belt drives the alternator and A/C. I don't see a tensioner pulley on either belt. Do these belts work like old-fashioned V-belts belts where you tension them by loosening something (like the alternator) and then using a pry bar to tighten the belt? I can barely see the power steering pump so it looks pretty tight, I welcome advice from anybody who knows this model. Thanks.

I took it off searched ebay for a replacement part number. Found one that says it fits that model but the belt that came is a non v - belt its just a plane flat style belt, same width and lenthg though. Will this work the same or is it critical to have the v belt ribbed on the bottom style?

diagram needed to fit V - Belt onto a john deere 1435 front mower? having problem with v belts? i was told i needed to change my ac belt on my 99 nissan frontier. of course it had to be the belt on the inside so i had to take all 3 belts off. i got the power steering belt off but i couldn't get the alternator belt off since it didnt have a pully. so i loosened the alternator adjusting screws an it still wouldn't budge so i went ahead and put the belts back on and now my truck wont start. help please. the alternator belt was still a little loose when i put it back on but i had the screws tightened yes it has a crank shaft pulley but it does not have a bolt to loosen it. i have a haynes repair manual an it says to loosen the lock nut and the adjuster screw on the alternator. i had to tighten the nut and the screw all the way so i think i need a new tensioner. could this be my problem?
if the poly V belt of a mercedes 320 is removed, and the engine is started, can it affect the engine in anyway? My mechanic removed the poly V belt of my ML 320, because he wanted to confirm if the 'engine noise' he is hearing comes from the belt. in the process, he started the engine to confirm the noise. 2004 Nissan Sentra Drive V Belts.? As above, i have a 04 Sentra and am going to need to replace both the drive belts. I think the prices that i was given at the shops i usually go to are way too expensive (like $100) just to change the belts, so i'd like to do it myself. Anyone know pretty much needs to be done, as I'm a little in the dark when it comes to changing the belts, i think i've seen a nut on the Idle pulley, and the tension adjustment skrews, but that's about it. Is the lower stack pulley supposed to spin and rub my v-belt on my mower deck? I have a Huskee 40" riding mower. I have restored virtually everything on this thing except the drive belt and stack pulley. The mower deck is completely restored. I'm concerned that my v-belt will be worn away because while the blades are disengaged, the belt sits loosely on the lower stack pulley as it spins to drive the upper stack pulley. Is the lower stack pulley supposed to spin like this, or are there supposed to be bearings that allow for the belt to sit still without being rubbed?

42" Snow blower attachment for John Deere question about belts.? I have a 42" snowblower attachment for my John Deere L120 riding mower. I have downloaded the manual for the blower off the JD web site but the photos are of very poor quality. What I really need is someone to send me a pic of the proper belt routing for both the PTO belt and the V belt that goes to the jack shaft pully on the blower. I think I have it routed proper but there seems to be too much slack in it. I have the idler pully pulled as far as it will go and it just seems like the belt should be more taut. Thanks.

apprenticeship question: What is the speed (in mph) of a V-belt as it goes around a 34 ft dia pulley? spinning at 75 rpm ? I figured out (34)(pi)(75)(60) gives me linear ft /hr. So dividing that by 5280ft/mi should give me the answer. But just over 9mph seems a little slow. Is this right?

What do the different 'Official' World Taekwondo Federation Black Belts look like? I just went to an open tournament a few weeks ago and I saw a few people wearing World Taekwondo Federation uniforms. (WTF Patches on V-neck uniforms with black V-trim.) One had a black belt with 5 white stripes embroidered on it. Another guy had a black belt with a red strip running through it. (Someone said he was a 5th dan black belt.) Okay, so if a red strip running the length of the belt is 5th and 5 white strips on the tip is a 5th degree, then which one is 'Official' and what other 'Official' black belt designs are there. In other styles I have seen black belts with two red stripes running the length of the belt. Black belts with a red strip with gold trim running the length; black belts with a white stripe running the length, black belts with an extra wide red stripe running the length of the belt. Since I just started Tae Kwon Do, I would love to know what the office WTF black belt description are. Links are good, but just a brief description will be fine. Thank you! The man wearing the white WTF dobok (Uniform) with the black v-neck adn the black belt with the red stripe running through the center of the belt (NOT half black & half red) was in his early to mid 40's, not a child. A/c v-belt shakes up and down when a/c is running, when a/c is off the belt moves fine, Whats causing this? tends to shake more when in idle.. not so bad when accelerate. Is an R4 compressor with a vbelt pulley.. Brand new belt installed and is not loose at all. No noise what so ever and blows nice and cold..

Anyone using VS sanitary belts? I just got a catalog from them and they have nice lacy colored belts? Is there such a thing as an inverted V-belt? Im looking for a rubber belt for a design that fits over a smooth pulley. In most applications im familiar with the belt sits in a groove with the pulley on each side. Im wondering if there is a type of belt where the pulley doesnt have flanges but the belt does.
