Discount Vegas show tickets from hotels?

I've heard that the best and most reliable way to get discounts on shows in Vegas is to get codes from the hotels. Do you actually have to stay at those hotels or can you just get them anyway? I am interested in attending a Cirque de Soleil show while I am in Vegas this summer and I am pretty flexible with showtimes. How do I get the discounts from hotels?

  1. Sometimes TI (formerly Treasure Island) will have a discount on its website for Mystere which is one of the better Cirque shows. Ka and O are the top 2 shows for Cirque. The Mystere discount comes and goes however. Another idea is to get comped for the show if you gamble. If you do not gamble, then this does not apply to you. Comps are getting harder to come by especially for video poker players but if you gamble enough, ask your casino host or pit boss. They have much less discretion than in previous years, however. They might deny you but perhaps you can make them feel guilty so they offer a comp for something else. If you buy tickets early, you can pay the standard box office price which is full price. Your seating choices are best with early full price purchase however. When you are on a budget, another idea is to use one of the same day ticket discounters. They occassionaly have Mystere but not Ka or O for a discount. Tix 4 Tonight has 5 locations with their Coke bottle (north of MGM) and Fashion Show Mall the busiest. One of the better websites is Goldstar.com for discount tickets but they currently do not have Mystere although they have had it before. The advantage of the websites is that you can plan in advance and get tickets without standing in line at the same day discounters. Although it is technically not a Cirque show, a former Cirque, Franco Dragone, started Le Reve which is owned by Wynn. I don't think it is as good as O or the other major Cirque shows but it has been steadily improved since their not so overwhelming opening. You can get Le Reve discounted at the same day discounters fairly often. There is also All Access at Circus Circus that does the same day tickets as well. Seat selection is not that great for the same day places but Le Reve is a theater in the round kind of place so it is not as important here as with a regular theater. If you have not seen any of the Cirque shows, try to hold out for Mystere which is still one of the best of Cirque. If you don't mind settling, Le Reve is often the most available for discounts. For Ka and O, your best bet for a discout is comps. There are also hotel promo codes for Ka and Mystere. Ka has a 25% discount under a hotel promo and there is a $10 off for Mystere. However, these are under a hotel promo which means you have to stay at the property. I gamble a lot so I would prefer the comp route but if you don't gamble you might prefer the hotel promo route.
  2. Mystere at Treasure Island is the show you see discounted most often. I have seen deals posted on www.lasventions.com from time to time, like last year they had a $50 special. Overall, Love at Mirage is the most popular show right now (also the newest). I doubt you will ever find this show discounted since it sells out most nights.
