Is there a way to find discount airline tickets or coupons?

I don't have any air miles but wanted to know if anyone knew of another way (besides Orbitz and so forth) get coupons or discounts.

  1. maybe couponcabin.com
  2. I have never found legitimate deals with coupons or tickets without some string attached like hard sell condo deals for 3 or more hours of your first day on the vacation site. It is suprizing what they can talk you into. The Discover Miles card is a great way to save up miles for flying. Then you can use your mile credits to book a flight for anywhere with any airline, with no black out dates. I have not used it yet but that is what the little black print says regarding use. The confusing thing is that it states that $1.00 - 1mile but in reality it is $1.00 for 1 mile CREDIT. I think 3000 miles equals $ 50.00 toward flying. Still just by paying a bill or shopping using it, will gain you miles and so if used wisely can be very good. I hope this was helpful!
  3. Airlines normally have fare sales where fares are reduced. But, it's hard to tell how much it's gone down, or what a good fare is, without the right tool. For that, http://www.farecompare.com has a "research cheapest airfares" search that will show you all of the fares between two cities for the upcoming year, rate the current far as good or not good, and show you a graph with history of the last time the fare dropped and how much it was. So that way you can gauge if you've got a good fare, or if travel is long way off, if you have some time to wait for possibly better fares.
  4. Sometimes when you sign up for a credit card they give you miles and coupons but, most of them have a fee and it is unlikely it would be worth while for one trip. Airline fares are not as mysterious as everyone makes them out it's just supply and demand. You need to find a time when flights are less-full and the fares will be lower. If you can travel Tues or Weds late at night or early AM that is your best bet. As flights fill up the fares bump up to the next higher level. The airlines website usually have the lowest fares but sites like orbits are good for searching. I wouldn't recommend purchasing through a third party site though going through the airline is normally better. Also if you do find a really low fare make sure you read the rules some don't allow for changes. That's something you want to know ahead of time for sure.
  5. I found some at this site. They have some pretty good deals. http://www.dealtaker.com/CheapTickets-coupon-code-a66-c.html
  6. This site lists great cheap travel sites: http://www.travelbargainsites.com One site searches all the airlines for the best fare. I know a way to get money back at some of these sites such as Priceline, Hotwire and Travelocity. If you want to know how to do this, then send me an email.
