Antiques Roadshow?

I love PBS TV, mainly because it has such quality shows like Antique Roadshow, to which I am listening to while on *Answers*. Yeah, I know how to "multi-task"! :) Anyway, the show is in Las Vegas and some woman brought in this diamond ring, didn't have any idea how much it was worth. The ring was worth between $165,000 to $175,000!!!!!!!! And the lady was so shocked, she played it really cool, she said, "oh, really?" I love Antiques Roadshow for the surprises and neat information on aniques. How about you? Do you watch it? Any favorite recollections of memorable appraisals?

  1. Wow! It must be fantastic if that happened to you! I love it when you know the people on there really think their item is going to be worth quite a bit, and then it isn't. The look of disappointment is great! They then play it cool and pretend their not bothered, and are surprised it would make that much! Yeah right!!!
  2. I love watching PBS and anything that is on it. Antique Roadshow is something fun to watch with the family on a quiet evening at home. I especially love watching the documentaries like Nature or Nova. Its quality television that is interesting to watch.
  3. I do watch it and my favorites are, the elderly lady that brought in a table that had the twins salivating, it brought almost a half a million dollars at auction, the other was someone who found what looked like an old Spanish soldiers helmet in the walls of their attic,, it was black, but when the expert saw it, he scratched it to see what was underneath, it was solid gold, those things don't happen to me
  4. Aw, I love The Antiques Roadshow!! I'm so sad that I try to guess the price before they say it. I'm getting quite good too!! Lol :-)
  5. I really like watching this show. Whenever I watch, I look around at my things wondering if I have anything that might be of considerable value. I agree with Sarah x, the look of dissapointment on people's faces...priceless!
