Do you ever go to yard/estate sales looking for antiques?

If yes, have you found some great bargains? If no, what do you look for at yard sales?

1. Have you just got something you are dying to gloat about? My Mum recently purchased a very dear little writing desk all hand made good condition, I thought, about 1950's it was only £100. I don't go looking to buy any as I don't have any areas large enough to compliment them.
2. I used to go regularly, not looking for antiques, but things I needed. I was into model trains, and I bought a carton of bits and pieces for a song. When I got the box home and had it unpacked there were several hundred dollars (retail) of stuff. On of the locomotives was brand new and worth $150 alone. I only paid about $50 for the lot. At the time, I would have been earning about $100 pw, so you can imagine how happy I was.
