How do I go about finding the resources to look up info & pictures on antiques pieces(pewter, figurines, etc)?

Three pieces - 10" cut glass bowl with several different patterns on it, an indented pewter wall plaque?, and a figurine of a small boy and girl sitting on a flat bench with the number 15 or 16 and something that looks like a 2 or a swirled L, the children have winter clothing on, parts of the figurine are glazed and some look like unglazed clay. A unique figurine.
