Should I sell my mothers antiques on e-bay for her, or go to my local consignment shop in small pioneer town?
I'm selling large things like a tiger oak piano, antique stove, secretary desk, chifforobe, Hoosier cabinet, brass bed, double sided wash station, basically nothing easy to carry or ship.

- you shouldent sell them theill become more valuable over time
- If there is not a local auction company which specializes in antiques, the best thing to do is offer it at a consignment antique shop.
- You're going to have to arrange shipping of anything you sell on e-bay. The purchaser will pay the freight charges, but it will be a lot of inconvenience for you. You really should find a dealer to give you a good price, or go the consignment shop route if you don't mind waiting for a sale.
- I might refrain from selling it on ebay, as chances are many people will not bid what the items are actually worth when taken into consideration that they are antiques. I think you're better off going somewhere nearby where people know what you have to offer. Besides, those items seem as though they would be a pain to ship. Best of luck!
- Have them professionally appraised first! then decide if they are worth shipping to a good antique auction(like Southebys) or if you want to sell or auction locally. Consignment houses generally want half of the selling price for handling the sale.
- First get them appraised by a antique dealer who perferably works in a antique auction house and then sell them on e-bay. But first if you want to make sure you are getting a good deal once you get these items appraised is see what the local consignment shop will give you if anything. They do take a proceeds of the sale of the item because they are doing the work of selling these items for you.
