Besides Remax, are there other real estate companies that charge desk fees?
Majority of the major ones do not

- As far as I know, they all do. I work for McColly and we pay desk fees and a commission split. Our fees are less, but our split is more.
- Every company is an independant, and each office chooses how to receive payment from the Realtors that work under their umbrella. Some offer only desk fees, some offer a combination of desk fees and commission splits, and some offer a couple options that you can discuss with your accountant to figure out which is best for you. If you are already a fellow Realtor, I do pay referrals! Look me up separately from this forum. If you are considering a carreer in Real Estate, I do pay referrals to liscensees! and you should interview a couple of companies until you find one that not only fits your financial goals but where you get along with most of your co-Realtors and feel at home.
- There isn't anything at the office you can't do at home. If you have a computor and a printer then you are in good shape. If you need to meet a client your office should have a room you can visit with your clients in. Have your calls forword to your cell phone or home phone. I have been doing it this way for 8 yrs now and do very well. I even use model homes for my office and hold open house 6 days a week.
