would real estate be a good career choice to get in to?

I am thinking about taking classes for ReMax...i know the market is low and everything but would it be worth my time to get into it... i am also considering nursing which healthcare is always going to be in demand..... what do u think about real estate though????

1. well if you are a people person clean cut and a self motivater i say yes you can make alot of money without breaking your back. i thought about it , but i went in a different direction. just remember people are always going to need new houses, and they are always going to be moving out of there old houses.
2. I dont think it is a wise time to get into it...I have met so many people that had to find other jobs because of the housing market is so bad
3. Go with something you feel good about doing just imagine yourself in it 10 years from now would you be happy? If your not then think what it is like for the tons of unhappy people who are working at jobs they can not stand. Real Estate goes through cycles this is a buyers market so a good Realtor should do well but in anything anyone who is in a position of less than the top 20% is fighting for scraps.
4. If you are in the USA then I would say no. The market is so bad and the only way you get paid in real estate is to sell the house. There are no buyers for the many houses for sale, stay in health care. You can always try real estate if and when the market improves.
