  1. Ok.. Go ahead
  2. Centery 21 #1 leading estste in CA go for it bro
  3. It is more of a personal preference, the larger company's offer more training but take a bigger cut of your commission as well.
  4. Remax has all seasoned brokers so they may not let you in until you reach that status; Over the past several years many of the real estate agencies merged. If I recall correctly Century 21, Coldwell Banker, and a couple more are owned by the same company. Even though they are owned by the same company they deal differently than each other. If I were you I'd choose any that was giving a free in-house RE agent training session or sessions, and choose to work for the company wherein you get along well with the broker. Since you are an independent contractor and not an employee and depending on which you worked with, you'd probably have to pay for your desk, your faxes, your xeroxes, your cell phone, be required to have a new car or one that's less than 3 years, you'll need to have your own insurance coverage, your own computer, your own contacts and advertising, etc. See if you can get connected (onto their office phone call system immediately) as sometimes they stall a month or so and that hurts a new agent. And, sometimes they "send" you for additional schooling but expect you to pay for it. Ten years ago my broker said you'd need to start out with $10,000 to cover start-up costs plus having a new car. You'll also need your own business license to work. You'll be signing an agreement with any RE agency you choose so read it carefully as to what's expected of you. People here move around a lot, maybe 3-6 months at one place. When I was new I was advised to work on the receptionist desk to get some of the incoming leads. It's a good thing to work in a place where you grew up and people know you, and where you attend church. Usually money is made thru referrals, and then referrals within the family of those contacts. Century 21 here requires that you own their jacket. The others don't. Some agencies deal with residential AND commercial properties, some just deal in residences over a million dollars, some deal only with condos, some deal with rentals and rent-to-owns. As you work you'll learn the ropes. Good luck to you.
  5. Where in Los Angeles County? If you are in the Cerritos area and want or need training, I would recommend Century 21 Astro. Carol Rayburn is the Broker and she created and started the C21 training program. C21 Astro will charge a percentage of your sales. The company is very ethical for a Real Estate Company. Remember all real estate companies work according to the experience and talent of their brokers. Most companies are franchised and must meet quotas, etc. I work with All California Brokerage Real Estate and ACB Mortgage Services. We are a virtual company. We have branches all over the state. I train my team - Real Estate Solutions Team over the computer. We charge a flat fee. You can also get fees for loans. I would not recommend the others. Most other companies have desk fees, office fees, copy fees and a lot of other gotchas. You have enough expenses when you start out without these fees. I have companies in other areas of LA. Let me know where you are interested so I can send you information on more companies. Chris C Virtual Real Estate Broker
  6. I live in LA and Ive been in the biz 8years. Ive worked with 100s of agents and brokers from every firm you can think of and the bottom line is.... The name doesn’t matter the people inside are all that counts. The system, support and staff are so different from office to office regardless of the name. C21, Remax etc. they dont have a standard that every office has to follow ITS JUST A NAME BRAND. Just pick a broker that you can talk too. Someone who is willing to show you the ropes and answer the cell phone when you’re in a bind. Working with someone who is willing to help you out and help you build your business in a rough market, is the key Good luck Oh, dont forget to vote for me for the best answer ;-) Thank you
