For real estate agents: What agency should I consider working for?

Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker, RE/MAX, Century 21? Or, perhaps a small local agency? I hope I'm not forgeting one, but I think you get the idea. If someone is starting in real estate or wants to progress and learn as much as possible about houses and the market where should they start? I'm just a little familiar w/ these agencies but still don't know much.

1. If you are new, I'd recommend Zip Realty, http://www.zipagent.com/recruit/careers/index.jsp . Yes they pay less in commission, but they train you well and provide all your leads for you as a compensating factor. As a new agent you will starve in this market without experience and a solid lead system and Zip will give you both. I fully expect to get blasted by others that post but that's OK, everyone is entitled to an opinion and mine is that you will gain a solid footing with ZIP. And no, I don't work for them.
2. For someone just coming into the business, I recommend Coldwell Banker. They have a great training system. Remax and Keller usually only take seasoned agents and C21 isn't as well know in most areas. Good Luck!
3. I have worked for two of the four agencies you listed, plus a couple of smaller ones. If you want to get started properly, have good people teaching and leading you along the way, and have a fair compensation system that doesn't milk you every month, then go with Keller Williams.
