How to shine?

In the midst of Issues with legitimate and Ethics, How do you shine through as a Real Estate Agent. I have been in business for over 10 years and it is getting harder and harder to meet people in open houses and in general, the media is making it hard to prove you are a good Realtor. Don't get me wrong I have a large base of past clients and referrals. I have always taken the upmost care of my clients. I am always happy to meet new people, but it's not much fun when first impression is a general census of a profession and not the person in which you just met. I figured I'd come here and ask, because there is no one answer to this question I am sure. Thanks, Denise Stuart Coldwell Banker

  1. The problem is that most realtors appear to look like the typical realtor. If an animal looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, a person will assume the animal is a duck (although that may not necessarily be the case). If a realtor looks like a stereotypically sly realtor, how can a person distinguish the good from the bad? The solution: don't focus on proving yourself as a realtor; instead, focus on forming a strong relationship with a new client. The second option is to remove the term "realtor" from your title all together. Can you skip the negative conotation left by "realtor" by using a novel title?
