Where is a list of the market shares for each of the largest national real estate brokers?

Doing research on the real estate brokers and I am trying to find which of the national brokers (Re-Max, Century 21, etc.) have the largest share of the total homes sold through brokers in the country.

Your best bet to find this information is to ask the individual companies. Still these figures are likely to be off because each company has an ego that tends to push their numbers higher than what they actually are. And there is another issue with companies like Re/Max and Century 21 because they are not singular companies, but instead are franchises that are owned individually. Such that Re/Max may claim 20%, that 20 % is made up of 3000 different Re/Max franchisees.
Each company that you ask will likely give you different numbers to show that they are the market share leader. Your best bet is to look through the closed sales in the MLS in your specific area and generate your own statistics.
While many will claim they are number one, the largest brokerage in the country is Re/Max (we don't work for them). To see who else is in the running you can go to www.alexa.com and click on the "Web Traffic" button. Enter the names of 3 companies at a time to compare the number of web hits each gets. There is a correlation to the number of web hits and the volume of business each one does. Good Hunting!
Contact the National Association of Realtors N.A.R. they keep statistics on National Brokerages. http://www.realtor.org/ I'm not sure how accurate this is today but in 2005 Remax was 1st in the U.S. You may want to consider regional stats. Remax may be great in Miami and have little to no presence in Orange County California.
