How do i find a Real Estate Agent to sell my home?
The person I bought my home from works in a different county and works for a private company. Would it be difficult for her to sell a home that is 30 minutes away from her business? Is it best to go with one of the bigger company's for better advertising? Coldwell Banker, Century 21, etc... I need to sell my home soon.

- Pick based on the agent, not the company. Some agents make calls and push your property, some run a couple of ads, throw up a sign and wait for people to come to them (not sufficient in today's market). If you're happy with the agent you bought the house from give her a call and see if she's interested or can recommend someone for you.
- Even with a bigger real estate company doesn't mean you will exactly get more advertising for your home. Each individual agent works independently and can advertise whenever and however they want. Letting the person you originally bought your home from list the home again doesn't mean she will actually be the one that sales it. Listings are put on an MLS system in which all realtors in your area can search and access information, pricing, and pictures of your home. If they have a client interested in the home then they will call your listing agent - whoever it may be that you choose, to set up an appointment to view the property. I recommend looking at local real estate magazines, catalogs, and your local newspaper at some of the advertising done by local realtors in your community. See who advertises the most, and how often, and find out what you like. Also advertising on the internet is very big these days, so it's good to find a realtor who has their own website or can advertise your home on the company's website for easy access to ppl across the country. You can also interview local agents. Pick out several that interest you and call them up, invite them to look at your property to get their opinions, and have them tell you how they would work for you and why you should choose them as your agent. With the market down like it is, it doesn't hurt to be picky! Good luck!
- The most important thing is to use a broker or agent who is active in your area. They are more likely to take prospects to an area where they can show several homes than to drive a long distance just to show one. Drive around & see who has signs up in your neghborhood -- especially if they have "sold" signs tacked up. Vist the people who have sold & ask them about the broker/agent.
- I buy and sell investment property (flip) all over the country and i am always in a new area. The way i find a good real estate agent is look who is advertising. Look on craigslist, newspaper etc/ If they are placing ads it shows they are motivated and hungry for the most part. and in this market exposer sells period.
