What is the best real estate company to work for?

Benefits wise, is it smarter to start out working for a big company like Century 21 or a small, neighborhood firm?

  1. find a company that give great splits. what state are you in? im in texas and one of the best companies here is stoneburner & associates. they give 100%commision. and have there own morgage, processors, and inderwriters all in the same office.
  2. It really depends on what you need! I started out with a large company, now i am the broker for a small company and i love it 10 times better. I wish I had been here all along. The bigger companies offer you more cushy stuff, but they cost you alot more!
  3. check out www.weichert.com
  4. The best thing to do starting out is to interview the companies that offer training. What you learned in real estate school does not prepare you for the real world. You will have to trade good training for either lower splits or higher fees but in the long run it is worth it. Sometimes the smaller companies offer better training than the larger ones. Just because the name is big doesn't mean a thing. I would also suggest you find a good mentor. If she/he is up to it you can bypass the suggestion above but most working agents really don't have the time to train a newby. I don't work for there, but Keller Williams has great training if they are in your area.
