Why are real estate listings not kept up to date.?

Been looking at residential adds in the various real estate agency (web page) listings and find all (about 98%) of the "adds and pics" out dated. I contact the respective agent (and if they reply) I am told that "property" has been sold but, "we have others...what are you looking for and what are your price guidlines, etc". This feels like a "hook" to get me there and sell "whatever" that agent is familiar with as the MLS (multiple listing service) does not exist in Costa Rica and agency joint net-working is limited if even available !

1. Sounds like lazy agents. And yes to some degree Jim the questions they ask are to hook you. But consider this, if they didn't ask you those questions,you wouldn't know about a new listing not yet seen and would lose out buying it. While I agree with you that pictures and information should be kept up to date, it only tells me one thing, don't work with an agent that works his business in that manner. There are many more that do take good care of their listings for their sellers. So call one of them.
