About using real estate agents to get tenants for my condo - is it worth it or practical?

Based in Quebec (Canada). I am planning to use a real estate agent or realtor to rent out my apartment. Which means I will pay him/her a month's rent when she/he finds me a tenant for a year. He/she'll do the ads, the credit checks, criminal checks, paperwork, show the place, etc. Pls tell me about your experiences, good and bad, or about the pros and cons, etc.

1. It depends if you have the time and if you are good at it. Some of us aren't willing to spend the time and can't judge whether the people will be good tenants so it's worth it to us to leave it to the pros.
