How do I know if a property on Yahoo! Real Estate is bogus?

I'm currently searching for an apartment in Boston MA, and me and my future roommate have found an apartment on one of the best streets here in Boston. It's an amazing deal, and most people I've told assume it's too good to be true. We've been approved to deposit into an Escrow through Yahoo! How do I know if this great find is legit or not? The renter lives overseas and will fly back to show us the apartment after the first deposit is made. Thank you for your help

2. I wouldn't give money online for this type of transaction. And the owner is overseas, but will fly back to show you the place. Doesn't sound right to me. But I'm the top of all skeptics. I'd drive by the place and ask anyone who comes out if a unit is available, before I gave any money.
