How do I verify or gain confidence that a landllord using Yahoo Real Estate really has the right to rent..?

the property. Are my deposits and fees protected if the person misrepresents the property or their rights to it?

  1. You would have to sue them to get your money back. You could check the property tax records to find out if they are the owner. If you aren't trusting them then you shouldn't rent from them. You do realize that they will also have a key to your home don't you?
