As a real estate agent which company offers the best commission?
Information applicable to washington preferably, but any info. will help. For example Windermere and John L. Scott have a $70 desk fee and the first 50,000 earned for the year is spilt between yourself and the company, then the rest of the year you earn 100%. This does not sound good to me...

- Check out Keller Williams. If there isn't one there try Century 21. Look around and ask around.
- Eesh. I'd stay away from Keller Williams. They are the Amway of real estate & lure you into recruiting other agents with promises of a tiered income. Your efforts are better spent & paid on getting business, not recruiting. Every agent that has left our office for greener pastures at Keller Williams is no longer in the business. I work with John L. Scott in Everett, WA, so I am partial to them. All franchises, JLS, C 21, Re/Max, Coldwell Banker, Windermere are all independently owned & operated. One plan you are offered at one C 21 office would be different that another C 21office would offer you, unless the same broker owns both offices. All the franchises have nice training programs, management that will assist you & usually some sort of "quick start" program. They also have great tools like a www.JohnLscott.com/YourName website. Interview at all the offices in your area. Take a legal pad & make notes of their commission structures. I'd stay away from Preview Properties which is a 100% office for $250 a month. You will flounder there & rack up monthly desk fees with no training. This scenario is generally for more experienced agents that don't want or need floor time or assistance from their broker. 50/50 - 70/30% split with a broker is typical for new agents. Getting to next level is usually based on the broker portion of what has come out of your checks (the 50 - 30%). Some don't charge a desk fee at all if you are on a lower split. Others charge a minimal one. Another option with regards to training is a mentor program. You get teamed up with an experienced agent & they go on all your appointments with you & help you learn. In turn, you pay a portion of your commission to them on the first X transactions that you have.
