is there a real estate research website that is better than zillow?

before buying a house what tools can i use to research real estate....anything better than zillow or similar ?

I want to find the average price of a 2-bed by year for each of the past ten years in any given market. Then I am going to draw a trend line and see if what a fair price is (not my idea.)
2. Realtor.com is going to be the largest available. Depending on what you are looking for it is probably easier to contact an agent to do the research. Especially if you are buying. You don't have to nor should you have to sign any agreements for the just the research! The community you are researching may also have a specific website through the local board of realtors. For example, Houston has www.har.com which will provide similar data as realtor.com but allows you to search by county, zip code and subdivision a lot easier than realtor.com Google your local real estate board to find out!
