Will zillow.com hurt Real Estate agents?

Public Comments

  1. It may hurt some of the really stupid ones. Zillow is accurate to within about +/- 20%. That means that if Zillow says a house is worth $100,000. You can be fairly certain it is worth somewhere between $80,000 and $120,000. If your agent isn't better than that, he has more to worry about than Zillow running him out of the business.
  2. Read: http://www.bawldguy.com/zillow-is-the-pong-of-real-estate-valuation/ http://www.bloodhoundrealty.com/BloodhoundBlog/?p=1257 http://sandiegohomeblog.com/2006/12/07/while-i-was-sleeping-godzillow-strikes/
  3. Not until it gets more reliable. Improvements in the formulas it uses are said to be coming soon. Even then, I would think appraisers would be in more danger than agents.
