Would you support these laws????

1) A law that says that all federal govt and state and local govt contracts were people are hired to do work on behalf of the american people must be done by american workers...and every effort must be made to make sure a competitive bid process is attempted amongst american companies hiring american workers. Foreign contracts can only be given ...as long as no american company steps forward to claim to be able to do the job. This would eliminate such things as the contracting and outsourcing of crucial military equipment such as fighter jets, cargo planes, tanks, and other matters crucial for national defense as well as the outsourcing of passport services, the selling of ports to foreign companies etc..... People talk about patriotism when it comes to warfare, but I think this kind of stuff is just as patriotic. 2) This law would ban lobbysts from playing such an active role in the campaigns of politicians. YOu cant be a lobbysts for a big time lobby firm and be a member of a presidential candidate's campaign staff for example. This gives the impression that they are in cohoots with the politician and he will owe them huge favors later. Its really a form of bribery.

  1. too many laws already.
  2. No, I would not.
  3. Definitely, if we are going to be at war we should at least give the jobs to American people
  4. Law 1 This would require tax increases, because many American companies are not competitive any longer. The work is not of high standard and often late in delivery. Look and see how many computer components are manufactured in the US, then you will see what I mean. Law 2 Lobbyists are also citizens and have an inaliable right to participate in the political process.
  5. I think it's a great idea in theory, but the government screws up everything it does an this law would be no exception. They would use this law to crack down on the free market and control companies, and it would hurt the economy. The government doesn't' need anymore power than it already has, it will just exploit what it's given. Plus, there's already too many laws.
  6. judging from the apathy of americans and the type of answers given here, no wonder this country is going down the drain. Greed rules. No sense of fair play. Greed will be the end of the american experience.
  7. I would
