I have an Ebay bidding question?

This is my first time ever using Ebay and I plan on sniping this item. Right now the item costs $465. My max bid is goin to be $711. If no one puts in higher than me and the item stays at $465 when I put in $711, do I have to pay $470 plus the shipping rate or $711 plus the shipping rate? Also feel free to give tips on sniping.

1. Whatever the highest bid is the price you pay. So if you win it and the last person bid $500 you pay $500. if the last bid is $705 you pay $705. If someone comes in at a bid of $1000 3 seconds before the auction ends he will pay $716 plus shipping and you lose the auction
