How do i know when someone is bidding on Ebay?

'cuz i notice that there is a starting bid, but is that bid from someone or not? there is only 0.99 from an original 1.75

1. Under the current price it should say how many bids the item has. If it says 0 and the price is .99, then the opening bid is 99 cents and it has no bids. If it says 1 bid and it is at 99 cents, it has a bid already.
2. it will say (History : 3 Bids) for example, then it will say the highest bidder.
