On ebay after bidding ends on my item can i choose not to sell the item or do i have to give it to them?

My situation- i had an item up for bid and it just ended an hour ago and i realized the item isn't mine and is my friends so can i cancel the bid even though the bidding has ended or do i have to give it? thans mandy you have been a big help but i can't rate your answer becuase i am a level 1 but thanks

1. you could give the person a refund and just state to them that the item is no longer available what will happen is that they will leave you negative feedback. Send them an email if they have not payed yet stating please do not pay item is no longer available sorry. Or if they have payed go to your paypal account and refund the money if you don't know how to refund the money go to search and type in how to refund money or on the ebay website go to help and type in how to refund money.
