is there an actual law against shill bidding at auctions?
Is there a real law in Kansas against shill bidding or having a "straw man" at auctions, or is it just an annoyance?

- its against the law and on ebay or other online auction sites it will get your account suspended.
- A bid is an offer and the acceptance of that offer creates a contract. Common law, not statute, you have to sue and there has to be damage incurred, which isn't that likely since you either agree to an asset being worth more than the last bid. The one with recourse is the person selling the item if the bidder doesn't pay off, then it's questionable, since he still has the asset.
