Experience with Automatic Bidding on eBay?

I've sold a lot of things on eBay but now want to buy something on eBay. I just learned what automatic bidding is, but here's my question: When I sell things, there are some bidders who will bid several times in a row, I'm wondering if eBays Automatic Bidding System is doing this or if they are just don't know what they're doing?

  1. yes, it's the auto bidding system.
  2. They're bidding several times in a row because they have bid less then what someone elses highest bid was. Say the highest bid is $25.00, the bidder may have actually bid $35.00 as their high bid. When another bidder enters a bid but does not reach the highest bid of $35.00 or more they can bid again until they are over the current highest bid. You will see that you have 8 bids on the item. The first bidder (who bid $35.00) and the other bidders that have bid $25.06, $27.00, $29.00, etc. --they will bid until they have exceeded the high bid of $35.00 or have choosen to no longer bid. Each successive bid also raises the minumum bid amount. With Automatic bidding the customers enter the amount the want to pay for an item and ebay automatically bids for the best price. I do not use Automatic Bidding as I would prefer to have the choice of which buyer I buy from. Manual bidding is always the best.
