if a price on e-bay is $10 & i bid $20 on it, will my bid be the next highest bid above $10, or will it be $20
example: I want an item on which the current bid is $10. E-bay says that 'eBay uses an automatic bidding system to make bidding more convenient.' What does that mean? If I enter $20, do they round it up to $10.50, or push it up to my bid of $20? I'm so confused..

- the next bid above 10 and ebay will keep bidding for you, up to $20, should there be other bids.
- Ebay will put your bid at the next highest bid, until it reaches the $20 if other people are bidding.
- It will be the next highest bid over $10. If they are in increments of .50 cents then your bid would be $10.50, unless someone else has already bid higher. If no one bids more than $10.50 then you will win with $10.50. Your $20 is telling ebay just high you are willing to go not to be outbid. Hope that helps.
- If an item's current bid is $10.00 and you bid $20.00, eBay will keep increasing your bid until you are the high bidder for the item. The other bidder may have also entered a $20.00 or more max bid, in that case, if there are no other bidders, or you don't raise your bid, he will win (he will win on the tie bid because he bid first). If the other bidder's max bid was $14.00, and there were no other bidders, you would win it at $14.50
- Bid slightly above the present bid and then you will see a place on the page to enter your maximium bid.Ebay will up your bid automaticly up your bid as needed ,usually by.25 or.50 at a time.if you have the high bid when the auction ends you will win at that price even if it is below your max bid.hope this helped you understand better.
