  1. When you bid on an item you can bid the highest price you want to pay. The actual bid will only increase by .50 or 1.00
  2. i believe its called a sniper bid and u can get it through ebay
  3. what you do is bid as high as you are absolutely willing to go, that way, even if they bid 1.00 or more, your maximum bid would be so high, the computer automatically outbids whoever tries to bid
  4. If you are referring to being outbid by the first bidder, then that is called proxy bidding Here is ebay's explanation of proxy bidding http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/proxy-bidding.html For example - the minimum bid set by the seller is $9.99. The first bidder places his bid at $35 -- what you'll see is not $35 but the minimum price set by the seller which is $9.99. You come in at the last minute and bid $12 -- the system will automatically raise the person's bid higher than your $12 and you will lose the auction. The system will automatically raise the first buyer's bid until someone places a bid higher than $35. But if you placed a bid below $35, then the first bidder will win.
  5. Problem is you can't wait to the last minute or you risk losing the item up for auction. he doens't have an automated bidding thing set up, Ebay does. Ebay will bid on the bidders behalf up to the amount of their bid. They obviously put in a high bid amount & you kept trying to outbid it, but did not. They were willing to pay more for the item, that is all. That is just how Ebay works. You win some, you lose some. Next time you want to bid on something, put in the very highest amount you are willing to pay & do this 1 time. Leave it alone. Ebay will bid against the other buyers for you. Good Luck
