Do designer items go up in value?
Do designer (Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Gucci) items such as belts and purses go up in value after time passes?

- With their classic pieces im sure they do! My mum bought a christian dior watch 4/5 years ago for £600 its still in the shops and has increase in value!:)
- Usually they don't surpass their orignal retail price unless they were 1) incredibly popular and discontinued or 2) a collectible. Louis Vuitton bags, authentic ones, sell for 75% of their original retail price if they are in excellent, flawless condition. Dior and Gucci usually go for 50% of retail unless it was a popular collectors style.
- For Louis Vuitton, because they do anual price increases you can resell for more than what you paid. I sold a monogram pochette for 250.00 (retail 300) and I only paid 200 for it. Limited Edition items are HOT and sell for WAY more than retail. For example, the Ceries (cherries) speedy is going for 1,000+ on ebay right now and retailed for only 700. If you have the chance to get waitlisted for a limited edition item, I would get it and then you can most def. resell it for way more than what you paid for. Belts on the other hand, go up a little but your best bet it with the scarves, bags, wallets, and luggage. Balenciaga is another brand that most def. goes WAY above retail. Because their colors are only around for one season, the demand is SO high. A First retails for 995 and can go on ebay for about 1200. Chanel has a very good resale value also. Gucci and Dior not so much. I think its because you can find Dior bags at Off the 5th (Sak 5th Ave's outlet) for a fraction of the price. But keep in mind that all the resale values are for bags that are kept in GOOD condition. They can be used, but if they arent in good condition or they are damaged then they wont sell for nearly as much.
