Dayco or Drive Rite or does it matter?

I put a drive rite belt on my cavalier cause drive rite is cheaper. but it is still sqeauling. could it be the belt? I have also replaced the tensioner. I am lost I dont know why it is still squealing.

  1. Make sure there is no fluid leaking that may be getting on the pulleys, check pulley alignment and check the pulleys for rust.
  2. The squealing may be coming form a bad bearing in one of your accesories. Or a leak a previously stated. If its an accesory you may be able to find it by taking the belt off and spinning them by hand one at a time and feel resistance or hear a squeaking when it spins. A little advise though.......don't wste your money on those cheap belts. Get one made by Gates. (Carquest belts are made by them.) they are much better quality and last much longer..
