If you get a leather belt wet, will it change colour or affect its appearance?

I know that water will affect the appearance of leather jackets but shoes seem unaffected, so what about leather belts?

1. It depends on what kind of leather is used to make the belt. Some leather is less prone to water damage than others. Getting leather wet can result in a water mark & having the dye bleed.
