How can I dye a tan leather belt to dark brown?

I got a gorgeous tan weave leather belt for my birthday, but unfortunately it does not go with anything. I want to dye it Dark Brown. What would you recommend?

1. Get Franklin baseball glove softener it will soften the belt but it will make it dark brown.
2. I dont know if you want to try this on your belt but i did it to my boots to make them look darker and give them an antiquey look to them. They were like a camel tannish brown. You could try some shoe polish in a brown color. and put it outside for a little to let the smell wear off. hope it helped!
