- Here is a link. I have never tryed to distress leather, but the information here is worth looking into. It is quite interesting. Maybe one of these applications will work for you if you want to give it a try. It is funny, because I used to make leather belts and this never came into conversation. Great question. Happy New Year to you also. . http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Leather/DistressLeather.htm
- Why do you want to hurry the process? It will do that all by it self.
- I'm a leather restorer- I'm used to taking old looking pieces and making them look new- but Ralph Lauren paid me to distress two chairs when a client ordered a distressed sofa and two chairs but the chairs werent actually offer in distressed. Nearly broke my hear to take beautiful leather and mess it up. It really depends on your definition of distressed- there's included sanding areas to create worn spots, fingernail scratches- hitting with things etc etc With a belt you might lightly sand the very top and bottom edge to replicate rubbing over time. Put it to the hole that you would wear at and pull hard on the buckle pin to make the stretched out hole you normally get. Keep a mark on the spot where the buckle stops on the belt and make scuffs there from it rubbing. curl the entire length oth the belt back and forth hand sized area at a time to crease it up a bit. Christ....I could go on and on....lol Hope this helps David
