1. got to give more info what is the belt for, deck? or transmission? what make of tractor all i can tell you to do is get your tractors manual and try to find how it goes
2. Look for diagram decals on the machine, if it is for the deck look on the deck, if it is the ground drive, look around on the tractor. Some put them under the hood or like my sears is under the left foot rest. If it is a sear tractor with an auto trans I can send you the picture out of the manual.
3. Depending on your mower, you can just copy down the model number from under your seat and go to the maufacturer's website and print out a schematic for your particular mower. John Deere is one of the few common mowers where you'll most likely have to return to the dealer to obtain a schematic. MTD, Sears, and Murray are all online.
