How do I fix this problem with my lawn mower?
Okay so i just started mowing my lawn and i didn't get very far. All of a sudden my riding lawn mower just halted to a stop, but the engine still ran. I checked for all the things I know about like, nothing was caught in the blade, the belt was in good condition, there was enough gas in the tank. It's weird. I don't know really what's going on. All i know is that when i push the lever foward out of neutral, or pull it into reverse it won't budge. Nothing happens. And the brake is off so yeah. I don't know if something is wrong with the tires or something's up with the lever. But I would like to know how to fix this problem. And when i try pushing the riding lawn mower forwards it doesn't want to move. Plz help. I want to finish mowing my lawn!!!!

- is it in gear, it may look like its in gear, move lever, on some tractors they slip out of gear. it might be the drive belt. you have 2 belts one for drive and one for mower. hope this can help you
- Sounds like it is stuck between gears of a manual transmission. Turn the engine off and try jacking up the drive wheels and then shifting to see if at least you can get to neutral (wheels will then turn). I assume when the engine is running the blade is turning? Is the transmission lever connected to the transmission? Check it out. Sometimes a equipment rental co. will help you, as they fix their equipment all the time.
- If it's belt driven and most are, then it could be broken or stretched. This belt is different from the one on the mower deck.
- your drive belt is off somewhere or worn enough that it no longer has the proper tension, replace it and you will be good to go again
- Its either the belt is broken, or slipped off..... IT could have stuck inbetween gears, or just scrambled its brains inside (essentially it broke is what I mean)
- Is it a hydro trans. If it is to move is u must move the release rod on the trans. Prob under back of mower. Reason why won't move could be belt broke, pulley on top of trans splines wore out or key on one of the wheels broke on axle. Check those and see whatcha get. If not those gota be internal.
