Do the eBay retailing drop-off stores make a good living for someone?

I am interested in owning and operating a business (possibly a franchise) for a "drop-off and sell it on eBay" retail store. There are franchises like "I Sold It on eBay", eAuction Depot, Auction it TODAY and others.

2. I worked for one for 6 months. I had a blast doing it, but since we had no salespeople to get the jobs and relied on advertising it failed. I guess my boss lost approx 4k each month for the year and a half it was up. The model works, but you have to be willing to do the work, the franchises at least AIT was EXTREMELY useless after you bought it. They could careless if you succeed b/c they don't get a dime after you buy it. Run it yourself, set it up yourself.
