Repair shop told me 3-4 days...
I had my car towed to an auto repair shop to have the transmission rebuilt. He told me it was be finished in 3-4 days, or 5-6 days if the parts took longer. It has now been 9 days (still no word today)...am i entitled to some kind of discount? and how do i ask for it? Have called, talked to the guy 2 days ago..told me Wed. thursday, or fri...But, gimme a break! i'll never go to him again!! Not complaining...just don't want to be taken advantage of... by "taken advantage of" I mean, I'm not makin a fuss over it, so they will get to it "..whenever". I'm sure they do want my car sittin around on their real estate...if they can say "the labor is what's taking so long." bah...evs

- No you aren't entitled to a discount because it is taking longer. The parts could have taken longer to get in or they are backed up and haven't gotten to your car yet. Give them a call and ask if your car is done or not.
- Probably not no, you are paying them for the work they do, not how long it takes, after 6 days I personally would have phoned them to find out what was going on.
- They should have called you by now. They are a business , and should be responsible for there customer's. Call them today and say: I was told that my car would be ready in 3 or 4 days, and i have not gotten a call and it has been nine. When will it be ready, because i was not expecting it to take this long.?? Don't ask for the discount, Just yet, If they are nice they should offer it, if they don't go into saying, Do you have some kind of discount offer because i waited 5-6 days extra. , and need my car ?? I hope i helped: ~ Ariel ~ :]
- Entitled? no. You are entitled to have your car towed to a different repair shop if you pay the current shop for services they may have already done. But, it is likely that it won't lessen your wait time. Unfortunately, you are best to call on a daily basis to check their progress, and use a kind tone to get the best service. Remember this, you are at the mercy of the repair shop, and the repair shop is at the mercy of their parts supplier. If push comes to shove, find the name of their supplier to see if the necessary parts are in stock and whether or not they have even been ordered.
- Sometimes it really just takes longer to get a job finished. There could be a delay with the parts, additional parts they needed, or some other delay. It happens ALL the time and no matter how well you plan out a repair, things do go wrong, mechanical and body repairs on a car arn't always cut and dry. Ussually I overestimate the amount of time I need a job, because I know whatever can go wrong will. And if I get the job done early, I look like a hero to the customer. If the job is even 1 day late, you look like you don't know what your talking about and the customer gets bitter, because most of them don't have the slightest clue what goes in to repairing a vehicle.
- Your not entitled to nothing, just because they took longer to fix transmission unless in writing, i had one to put in transmission and it took 3 weeks so dont complain.
- Taken advantage of???? Do you think it does the shop any good to have your vehicle taking up valuable real estate for 9 days?
