1. I'm all about antiques. Have found great deals at yard sales actually!
2. I've been an antiques dealer for 15 years, and wouldn't have anything else! The new furniture is poorly made and won't hold up as well as quality, well made furniture.
3. Jinku, when I grow up I will decorate my home like a hindu temple.
4. I mix things up by using both. I like to preserve the past with some of my heritage stuff but I like the lines of the new stuff.
5. I love antiques but not all over. I have mostly contemporary furniture but like to add a small antique piece here and there...as in a rocking chair, table, lamps...to give the house a warm and cozy feeling.
6. I have quite a few antiques pieces of furniture that I have inherited from my parents. Then there are modern pieces that complement the older pieces. For example, a bright blue couch brings a welcome bit of colour into the lounge.
7. I use the best of both worlds. I make antique reproductions. You can find people who sell this stuff on the net. Do you like Ethan Allen furniture? Its a take on antique with a modern touch. That is kind of the stuff I make for myself. I don't like contemporary, it's so boring!
