- Ask your master.
- HA! HA! Thats funny!! Sorry! Try tieing it in a knot. I know it can be hard to do the first time. Ask someone to show you how to do it. You will get it in no time.
- By bowing to you sensi and saying can you please tie this.
- There is a proper way. Which means there is also a wrong way. Ask a senior student or instructor at your school. Also, ask "why" you do it that way. There is a reason beyond tradition as to why it is tied that way.
- Ronin just taught a very good lesson here folks and no Violence needed Just Knowledge and a sense of writing it
- Hold the belt about 18 inches from one end just below your belly button with the 18 inches dangling to you right side. Wrap the rest around you twice (keeping it neat so it looks like one wrapping). Take the part that is now dangling to your left and tuck it under the rest right where the 1st 18 inches starts. Now tie a simple knot.
- Hmmm... That was the first lesson when I went to school. Also included were: the uniform, ranks and dojo etiquette.
- Ask your instructor or a senior student in your school. Just remember, Kyus / stripes / degrees, should be the right side, and the length should be even on both sides.
- Further to what the other's wrote, here are some graphic images on how to tie your karate belt correctly. Good luck!
- 1.Start with one end of the belt and place it near the navel. This end will remain static for most of the belt tying procedure. 2.Hold one end in place and wind the other, long end around your body. 3.Place the long end over the short end while holding the short end in place in the center of your body. 4.Now wrap the long end around your body a second time. 5.Bring the long end towards the center. 6.Place the long end of the belt over the short end. 7.Push the long end under both layers of the belt. 8.Now position the long end over the short end 9.Now grab the short end and move it to the other side 10.Move the short end over the long end, we're about to tie a knot. 11.Pull the long end through the loop you formed in the previous step. 12.That's pretty much it, we now have the right type of knot! http://www.all-karate.com/123/how-to-tie-a-karate-belt
- if ur belt is fairly new, it will become untied even if it is tied correctly. when this happens face the flag, bow, turn away form the flag then re tie ur belt.
