Discount furniture / mattress stores near Bloomingdale, IL?

Hi! I'm helping a friend get settled into his new place in Bloomingdale, IL and since we are from out of state, we're not very familiar with the surrounding area. We saw the Mall on Old Army Trail road, but the furniture prices were a bit steep. He's looking to get a few pieces just to get started in his new place. We know a ton of places in NY to find discount pricing on mattresses and furniture, but those chains are not anywhere near IL. Anyone have any suggestions? I can always just mapquest the directions if you don't mind providing a street address to some of these places. Thanks!! =)

1. there is a Wickes outlet on Gary road on the west side of the street. Just south of Army Trail Road, they have decent prices. Also look at craigslist, you can find some great deals on there.
