Belt Auction

I have seen some garter belts that have plastic tabs and others that have metal tabs.?

Is one type of tab better than the other? Also why do some garter belts have 4 garters and others have 6?

  1. the platic ones are better as they do not wreck the nylons..... 4 is better too.
  2. 6 garters on weekdays and 4 on holidays LOL actually I think it is just what you feel is better to you as for plastic to metal I would think but not sure since I am a guy LOL go with me on this (at leasrt I am taking a crack at this answer) I would think plastic would get old and give out and come undone due to time and bending and sitting metal on the other hand would tend to hold up better but also you got the hard metal button pressing in your legs too so I gess it is a toss up.
  3. I do not have first hand experience, but a while ago, I lived with a lady who wore a garter belt and seamless regular nylon stockings every day to work. Regular nylon stockings have no elastic in the welt (the stocking top) and do not stretch. You have to get the correct size for your leg shape. Stretch stockings have a wider latitude for size, but the texture is rough to the touch. Regular nylons are absolutely smooth and shiny, a look my ladyfriend liked very much.. After a while, she educated me on the ins and outs. She wore stockings for comfort. She never could find pantyhose that didn't become uncomfortable in a short period of time. Anyway, she preferred metal over plastic. Plastic breaks, which metal never does. She told me a wide belt, 4" or more, is comfortable for all day wear. The frilly lacy things from Victorias Secret or Fredericks of Hollywood are merely toys and not suitable for all day wear. She wore her underwear outside the garter straps, by the way. Think about the logistics a minute, using the bathroom? She pointed out to me all of the catalogs do it wrong, with underwear inside the straps. And she told me 6 straps are necessary because regular nylons (the real thing, those which do not stretch) need side support as well as front and back, and the straps should be wide so when sitting they don't cut into the back of the leg. It was fascinating to watch her dress. It looked like a lot of trouble to me, but she insisted it wasn't and was worth the effort from the comfort angle.
