do garter belts made to make a hole in stockings?
my girlfriend recently got one...and well its the kind where you slide it and snaps. now are there supposed to be certain stockings that work with the belts or are the belts supposed to make small holes from the snaps in order for it to hold the stockings up???? she tested the garter belt, but it made one hole in the left stocking...soo, i basically need a tip on how exactly do you hold the fabric of the stocking before snapping the clip of the belt for the "hold up"? do you have to pull the fabric before clipping or just let the clip bite both sides of the stockings for maximum holdage?

- The fasteners hold the thigh high stocking in place and shouldn't make a hole in them at all. If you notice the part of the fastener that goes into the hole is rubberized to prevent slippage.
- No, they work with all stockings, and most thigh high hold ups to when the wearer discovers that they really don't stay up the way they are supposed to. That is why most thi high hold up users, usually switch to plain stockings in the ens that need a garter belt, because the truth is, most sheer stockings need a garter belt to work properly, and they do not make holes in the stockings, simply grip them between the rubber button and the metal clasp. Me and my friends routinely wear them all day long at work and they are certainly preferable to wearing dreaded pantyhose all day, or continually pulling up the thigh highs that don't stay up by themselves. I think you both need to look at a website like stockingstore.com that shows hundreds of styles with close up pictures you can enlarge so you can see how the fastners work, and read their instructions on wearing them
- No! They hold them up by friction. Where are you and your girl friend from, Siberia? Check out any stocking Internet site and enlarge the pictures. Why would people put holes in expensive stockings with a garter belt. Why do women wear panties and then put ugly pantyhose over them, when all they need is thigh highs or stockings and a garter belt, that's a better question.?
- That's the craziest question I have ever heard. Do you think people spend over $20 a pair for stockings to put holes in them? They hold up with a rubber gripper at the end of the garter strap by friction, and can be put on and taken off many times in seconds with absolutely no damage to the stocking. In fact they even work with the thigh high stocking that are supposed to stay up but usually don't . They just have a little thicker top.
