Have you ever been so angry that you abused animal?

A friend of mine had handcuffed his ex-girlfriend to a gate back in 2001 to scare her. He tied a dog to a gate and whipped it with a belt and then hit it across the head with a metal folded chair. I know he was mad, but he says he did it out of anger. Have you ever whipped dog, cat or any other animal because you were angry?

Of course not!!! That's a terrible thing to do. And your friend should be reported to the police because that's not a normal or healthy way to handle anger.

I have never gotten mad enough to abuse an animal like that. Your friend sounds like at psycho! He needs to get help. If he would do this to an animal, he might do this to a human if he gets mad. I would not let any kids around this person. Or any animals!
Usually when I'm very angry, I don't abuse the animal. I hug them and pet them, they remove my anger and stress. And as for your friend That is animal cruelty and he should have been thrown in jail, the dog did NOTHING to him! and he should also had been written up on charges to what he did to his ex-girlfriend. Your friend has issues...

when i worked at petsmart they would never let us call in sick, even when i had a concussion and was throwing up i had to come to work anyway, i was giving a guinea pig its meds and he was throwing a fit and being fussy. i yelled at him really loud to knock it off but i didn't hurt him, as soon as i yelled "stop it!" i felt bad and then cuddled it afterwards.

That's horrible! Who does he THINK in his small mind who he is that he deserves to beat an innocent animal and handcuff his ex-girl friend!!!??? You should report him. Next, he may kill them. Being angry is NEVER an excuse to beat something, unless you are stupid enough, and do it to your own head. See if he likes being handcuffed and beaten with a belt and chair. If he did this, he is no better then a wild animal himself, but then again he is worse because he KNOWS what he is doing. I'm serious! He needs anger management treatment and maybe mental help. P.S And no, I have NEVER. You have to be EVIL and least in some amount to look into innocent, frightened eyes and only wish to cause them pain.
Absolutely not. That's something a coward says. ".. I was just so angry." Tying a dog OR A PERSON to a fence is a CALCULATED act. You have to go get something to tie him with, get the belt, then go and get the chair. There is time to think about what you're doing. It's bull. Your friend is just a lunatic who needs to be thrown in jail. It's not the same as getting angry and throwing something, you have to actually think about it. Find better friends.
I agree with the above. The ‘anger’ excuse does not fly. To stop and tie up the dog takes thought and planning. That makes it pre-meditated. Please tell me someone had his ass arrested. He does not simply have anger issues, he sounds like a sociopath. He has a history of violence (handcuffing the ex) and he knew exactly what he was doing to that poor dog. If this guy really is your friend, you’ll turn him in so maybe he can get some help. If you stand by and let him get away with this, you are just as guilty as he is.
I've given my dog and horses a good smack for being obnoxious or pushy, but I've never abused them. Nobody should be that way. And what would handcuffing his girlfriend to gate have to do with him being mad? I just think that some people need therapy. I know a guy who was trying SO HARD to get me to be his girlfriend, but after hearing some of his stories about ex-girlfriends, I decided he had too much of an anger control problem to go out with him. And he coudn't deal with it. Looks like I made a good call.
