What is the "bidding" process when rushing for a sorority?

I'm considering rushing for Alpha Kappa Delta Phi and I was told there was the rush, the bidding, and then the pledging. When pledging, what kinds of things do you have to do? Ahh, sorry, still answer original question. Is it an interview?

1. Don't waste your time. Its for people to buy their friends. Frats are just as gay.
2. "Bidding" is an invitation to join - at least it was 35 years ago! Rush is the social part, bidding is the invitation to join by the sorority/fraternity, and pledging is the acceptance. I've never heard of AKDPhi! Is it an honor society or a social society?
